Music Lately
Joie Butter’s mixes from her Anthropologie visits.
A new love themed mix from K.I.D. Collective (the “Remember the Mountain Bed” song is so lovely).
Catching up with CocoRosie (learning the term “freak folk” that applies to Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart and the CocoRosie girls).

Laughs Around Town
I’ve read two funny* little blog articles, both of them about men dressing awfully nice these days. Here they are:
All Dudes Learned How to Dress and It Sucks
*As someone who doesn’t swear, swearing casually well in writing is one of the things I find supremely (and surely immaturely) funny. As an fyi warning, before you get there and say, “what the heck?”

Caps for Sale
Isn’t it eerie when you see a picture from a book you read when you were younger but haven’t seen in forever? Just like getting that transporting whiff that makes you feel great and safe or terrible.
Anyone remember this one, Caps for Sale, involving a bunch of rambunctious monkeys making off with the poor salesman’s hats? I have memories of books that I do not even remember the titles of, like one involving a balloon that escapes to balloon world, a heaven-like place where all lost balloons go. And what about this: we looked at better art on a daily basis when we were five than we do now.

Glamorous Persuasions
I am so not these things.
But sometimes I really wish I was the girl who jumped out of bed and threw on the ridiculous dress and dashed off to the store. Mrs. Lilien’s seven successful persuasions are inspiring me this week.

Chanel Garden
[blip.tv ?posts_id=4261900&dest=-1]
Garance Doré made and shared a video of the recent Chanel show so we too can be part of the elite that sat among the white pebbles and black terraces. Soo great.

Fiesta Font
This might have to be the font of my business card. I love Mexican party banners! They are soo pretty and festive (if you have an excuse, you can get these guys to make you custom ones.) Jessica Hische’s new font is designed to mimic either the “papel picado” banners or snowflakes.

Renovated Starbucks
Beacon Hill welcomed us back to Boston with a newly renovated Starbucks! The one on the corner of Charles & Beacon went from a grimy, skivvy, a bit too crowded location to a light-filled room with plenty of bar seating, molded ceilings and chandeliers.

Youtube Guggenheim Biennal
The Guggenheim & Youtube are picking videos to show at the Gugg. for their first ever Biennal of Creative Video. You can watch all the shortlisted ones here. I liked these two.
This glowstick animated one might be my favorite.

This one is fascinating because the particularities of our cravings are astonishing if you think about it.
